Few Facts about the Story:

• Ponniyin selvan is a great Tamil novel which had mixture of different tastes together , for example : you can see a great level of fiction In it , but still historic content is maintained properly.
• It have both fiction and non fiction characters in it , but still there is a reality maintained in good extent through out the novel.
• Kalki took three and half years to complete the novel, also he visited srilanka three times for gathering information about the novel.
• Kalki added some fictional characters to make the plot more interesting , also he added some extra features to real characters , so that it is so mesmerising plot.
• Kalki took most of the real incident as it is , also he added some more items or plot to real incident so that story plot come in a different way.
• MGR started the project on ponnyin selvan , but later it was stopped due to some reasons, also director maniratnam tried making the film , due to budget issue movie stalled.
• 32 hour animation movie is created by Rewinda movie toons, it took 7 years to complete the movie and released in 2015.
• Also makkal TV tries to take teleivison series on it , then it was stalled due to potential issues with budget.
• English translation of novel is also available.
• Film Director Manirathnam is making a movie again.
